System Edström joins the EV Rally team
We’re excited to announce that we are the official end-of-day host on day four of the Greenfleet Mythbusters EV Rally ’26!
Launched in 2021, the EV Rally is a week-long event that showcases all aspects of e-mobility. Taking place over five days, the event is designed to prove the viability of electric vehicles and ‘bust some myths’ about EVs along the way, while highlighting innovation in charging infrastructure and clean energy.
The rally gets underway on Monday 7th September in Exeter. The convoy then heads north, calling at Birmingham, Chester and Newcastle upon Tyne before reaching us in Corby on the Thursday. Next day, the cars will head to London for the Everything Electric show at Twickenham Stadium, making for a total of 887 miles across the week. Along the way, the vehicles will negotiate two of the highest roads in the UK to really show the capabilities of EVs.
Our UK Head of Sales, Chris Angel, said: “All of us at System Edström are excited to be joining the EV Rally team as an end-of day host this year. We’ve been innovating in van racking for more than 65 years and the switch to electrical vehicles is just the latest stage in that proud history. It’s an honour to welcome all the teams to our headquarters in Corby. We hope everyone has a fabulous rally and enjoys their time with us.”
Colin Boyton, EV Rally Event Manager, said: “We have seen the car range improve beyond anything we could have hoped for, in such a short space of time. And the next phase of drastic improvements, to match the variety of electric vans on the market, is ‘improved range, when running as the workhorse it’s intended to be’. And this all comes down to weight. Innovative, lightweight internal racking and storage solutions are a crucial element in this and we have a world leader joining us for the first time this year, in System Edstrom. They will welcome us to their premises at the end of day four and drivers will see their solutions being fitted to electric vans and be shown the gains and savings as a result. It’s great to have them on board and we thank Joff Brown and the team for making it happen.”
We’ll be bringing you more news on the EV Rally as it approaches.
