Renault UK chooses System Edström racking

Leading French manufacturer has chosen System Edström to convert its new UK mobile service vehicles.

Renault UK has unveiled the new van racking supplier for its mobile service van feet at the 2026 Commercial Vehicle Show and we’re proud to say that it’s System Edström.

Why System Edström

When Renault UK identified a strategic opportunity to transform its aftersales offering by deploying purpose-built mobile service vans to its dealer network, they needed a trusted van racking supplier to help bring the concept to life.

So, the choice of System Edström was clear from the outset. Having successfully delivered mobile service van conversions for other manufacturers, System Edström brought a proven track record that Renault UK could trust.

As Renault UK National Fleet Aftersales Manager Saqib Qureshi says: “We chose System Edström because of their previous experience in this space. For us, it was a no-brainer to utilise a company like them, with their great reputation, so it just went hand in hand.”

In phase one of the programme, System Edström has converted seven Renault Master vans: six deployed directly to dealers across the UK network, with a seventh featuring in the launch of the programme at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show before joining a dealer. The target is to grow the fleet to 25 converted mobile service vans across the dealer network.

Working closely with Renault UK, System Edström helped specify and fit each van with a comprehensive toolkit, including almost 70 individual tools, along with the electrical infrastructure, compressor systems and the diagnostic capabilities needed for real-world mobile servicing.

The aim was to start out with a comprehensive set of tools and capabilities, which Renault can then refine as they gain experience in the mobile service van sphere. System Edström’s experience was crucial in developing the solution.

What the vans feature

Each Renault mobile service van is equipped to handle a wide range of tasks at the customer’s location, reducing the need for vehicles to be brought into dealerships for routine work. Core capabilities include:

• Scheduled maintenance and servicing (SMR)
• 12-volt battery diagnostics and replacement
• Software updates and ECU reprogramming
• General diagnostics, keeping workshop ramps free for complex work

By handling as many tasks as possible in the field, dealers can reserve their workshop capacity for the diagnostic and repair work that requires specialist equipment, improving throughput and customer satisfaction.
