Meet our new Supply Chain Manager, Antonio
The latest recruit to the System Edström team is our new Supply Chain Manager, Antonio Ferritto.
Antonio joins us from food packaging supplier KM Packaging, where he was Supply Chain and Purchasing Planner. “I have done similar purchasing and procurement roles over the past eight to 10 years, so I have a good understanding of Supply Chain and the processes,” Antonio tells us.
“A lot of the elements are transferrable, so it’s a case of tweaking it to fit the business. The main part of my role is ensuring that all parts and products are ordered promptly and arrive with us in time for our workshop to complete the installation for our customers. Any delays could hold up the job, so it is imperative that we try to avoid this so as not to let our clients down.”
Asked what he thinks is the biggest issue facing customers these days, Antonio is quick to answer. “Due to the current goings on in the world, I would say the biggest challenge is increased pricing and extended lead times. We are constantly working to find solutions to minimise costs and delays where possible. In some cases, this means purchasing parts and components in larger quantities and sometimes sooner than would normally be required. It’s not always an ideal scenario, so we need to ensure that it works for ourselves and for our customers.”
Outside of work, Antonio is partial to a bit of football. “I like to think I can still play a decent amount of football, but my knees tell me that I can’t unfortunately! So, I’m much more of a watcher of football now. I can’t sit still for too long so I’m always trying to find something to do to keep me active, whether it’s DIY around the house or going for a walk (or to the pub!). I’m close to my family so I like to spend time with them and visit them as much as I can.”
Antonio also tells us that he owns a pair of cats and he’s officially a lord of the realm, having been bought the title as a present. Welcome to System Edström, your grace!
