Busting myths with the EV Rally
System Edström was the end-of-day host for day four of this year’s EV Rally and we had a fantastic time. The theme for this year’s rally was “Mythbusters”, with the team aiming to take on some of the misconceptions that still surround electric vehicles.
As this was the first time we had hosted an event like this, we wanted to make sure we did a good job and that the teams would appreciate the hospitality and leave knowing a little more about what we do.

The teams began arriving around 2.30, giving us just about enough time after our dedicated third-party area was cleared to welcome our caterers, The Gourmet Hog Roast Company, and ES Promotions, who provided a giant Scalextric track. We then brought three demo vans into the area: our multi-trade Volkswagen ID. Buzz; our Kia PV5, complete with electrifying wrap; and our new mobile tyre replacement demo van, which made its debut last week at the Renault Pro Converter event in Bristol. Our partners TVL also brought their demo van along.
Among the teams were representatives from KwikFit, the AA, BMW, Lex Autolease, Gridserve, Speedy Hire, Vaylens, Tusker and more.
We also took the opportunity to invite some visitors along for the afternoon. It was great to see so many of our key customers, suppliers and installation partners and show them our appreciation.
During the afternoon, the EV Rally’s John Curtis also took a few minutes to chat to our Commercial Director, David Sawford, about the part played by our racking in helping our customers meet their environmental commitments while giving the teams the best possible van racking to work with.
